3 out of 5 stars basically works   October 12, 2009

Basically works. The lights are dim and hard to see during the day, they are OK at night. Took some fiddling to get the unit to engage in the cig lighter power source. Get's a good grade for price and simplicity of operation.

1 out of 5 stars This one is worse :-(   July 5, 2009

Last three months before I went to visit my hometown, I bought this Nokia bluetooth as a present for my father from Tech for Less, Amazon. When I just opened it, the rubber on the plug in was broken but it's usable. For a month later, it started giving lots of problems. Sometimes it connects and sometimes not. Now it was broken. I am really upset for this product and don't believe that Nokia makes a very poor product like this at all. If you don't want to waste your money for car bluetooth trying to buy other brand name.

3 out of 5 stars good device   March 24, 2009
Techie Trisha (Southfield,MI USA)
The Nokia handsfree bluetooth device is a good one. It's ease of use and operation is great. The Quality of the incoming call volume is okay. the out going call and functions of the device are all good but the incoming calls should have a better sound quality. The user friendly calling features and the ease of operation are very good as well. The incoming Call volume the voice or rather reception is poor there is no adjustment for call volume that improves the quality of incoming calls.

1 out of 5 stars I thought Nokia made good stuff   March 20, 2009

It seemed the perfect product since I would not have to worry about charging it. But callers always complain they cant hear me clearly. I think its because the mic is not properly designed.

1 out of 5 stars Doesn't work well..   October 5, 2008

I used to have a Motorola RAZR, and that phone was crap--poor reception and slow response to keypresses. While waiting for the 1st gen iPhone to come out, I bought myself a cheap Nokia to hold me over. I was amazed at how well that Nokia worked, and that sold me on the brand. br / br /I got this Nokia HF33W for my wife's Highlander. It's convenient because Toyotas shut down power to the lighter when they're off, so the bluetooth kit is on only when the car is on. Unfortunately, there just aren't many bluetooth kits designed to plug into the cigarette lighter--at least not from a reputable brand. br / br /After many months of experience, I'm very disappointed with this device. First of all, you pretty much have to use the loudest speaker volume setting to hear people at a comfortable level while on the road. But that's the least of its problems. The bluetooth connection does constantly drop. This happened with both my wife's old Blackberry and her new iPhone 3G. Most of the times I call her, the calls would get dropped within a few secs of answering. She'd call me back with the handset, and there'd be no problems with that, so it's not a reception problem. The mic sensitivity is far too weak as well. On the rare occassion that I'm actually able to have a conversation through this device, her voice comes through as being very faint and distant. br / br /Like a previous reviewer, we're going to replace this with a BlueAnt. It's too bad they don't have a model that plugs directly into the cigarette lighter. br /
