Amazon.com Product Description Logitech's diNovo Media Desktop is a dramatically designed Bluetooth keyboard and MediaPad, optical mouse, and Bluetooth hub combination that transforms the user's work space. The visually striking diNovo keyboard gives first-class comfort, while the separate MediaPad lets users remotely command today's PC digital-media interface to enjoy their favorite pictures and musical selections. The MediaPad also displays e-mail or instant message notifications, media playback status, and provides smart calculator functionality. The ensemble includes Logitech's high-precision MX-900 rechargeable optical mouse. The diNovo also turns the PC into a Bluetooth control center, letting users synchronize data between their Bluetooth PDAs, cell phones, other devices, and their PCs. You've never seen anything like the MediaPad, a Bluetooth remote commander for all your digital media. Use it to remotely view, select, and launch your favorite jukebox tunes, video clips, or digital photos. I hope not all Logitech devices are like this July 20, 2010 Blueketchup77 (Alhambra, CA) It's a good keyboard/mouse/keypad combo to use on a light/normal basis but I guess I use the keyboard a little more than usual. I'm switching to a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard that's wired.
Overall:
- good sleek design, where keypad is mobile
- extra buttons for volume and media playback with play/pause, forward and back
- keypad functions like a calculator which is cool
- lots of plastic feel; keys would get stuck and ruin your game/typing
- keypad eats up batteries like no tomorrow; lasts about 2 weeks without use
- the smooth rubber for wrists and mouse is falling apart like dead skin after sunburn
- bluetooth receiver will go out and screw with your O/S
- keyboard is 2 feet away from bluetooth receiver and it ALWAYS wants to reconnect the devices during boot-up; bad software
Keyboard:
- because of the sleek design you can often type the wrong letter; hard to find the tactile bumps on F and J
- battery life is not bad but under heavy use like gaming, be ready to change it often.
- keys get stuck or not respond at all (happens when battery is dying)
- no LED or signal battery's dying
Number Keypad/Media Pad:
- good LCD display; shows the time and date
- love the calculator function and "remote-like" functions when using Windows Media Center
- eats your battery like Cookie Monster
- sturdy though i think because of the small size; plastic gets weak when it's stretched out
Mouse:
- love the fact that i don't need to install batteries on mouse; batteries are rechargeable-no replacing
- laser doesn't work for me on shiny surfaces
- lots of extra buttons but I can't program them for gaming
- battery will last if you turn it off every night
- if you happen to charge the battery during computer use, the software will try to reconnect with charging mouse ALL the time.
Dont bother: inferior flawed product March 8, 2008 DeVerm Great design and features. Problem is that the bluetooth hub & software are inoperable and not fit for sale. Will work when you don't install the bluetooth stack but only the newer setpoint software. The only advantage at that point is that it has more range than other RF wireless sets. You can read details about the flaws in most other reviews here. Updated software doesn't solve the problems. I was happy when the cats puked on it (again) after which it stopped for good. They must have known it was no good.
I will never again buy a bluetooth mouse/keyboard and feel cheated as I paid the early high price for it and lost many $$$.
has plenty of issues... February 29, 2008 Brandon (Iowa) Well, I have not had this keyboard combo for very long but now I see where all the users are frustrated. As others have mentioned it looses connection on all three devices here and there, not one set time or cause its just that one or more devices will just stop working and disappear from he bluetooth menu!?!? You have to keep a separate USB mouse and keyboard on very close on hand to use this wireless combination, how does that figure in? Expensive for all the problems it has but sure looks cool, I guess I can just leave it sitting on the desk for looks only!?! If they could only get the thing to work!
Keys wore off after only a few months. February 21, 2008 J. Ferrans This keyboard has a wonderful feel, but the mediapad does chew up the batteries. The decals have begun to come off the keys in a serious way after just a few months too. Very disappointing given that we've had over a century of manufacturing experience with keyboards!
Never Worked January 22, 2008 Flier The mouse had a good feel and nice response. That was the only thing I could get to work. After much effort I did get the keyboard and keypad to work briefly, but once I installed the software, as directed, it was only the mouse...for a while. Eventually it quit too. I spent a couple of hours following their limited directions and finally went on line to find automated support that said it must me defective...return it. I will.
